Félix graduated in 1992 from an innovative Translation Studies degree programme, which included an undergraduate traineeship at a Portuguese daily newspaper and at the University of Glasgow. In 1998, he completed his Master's Degree in Translation, and he is currently taking a PhD in Human Language Technologies, with a project on Machine Translation for translators. Félix started working as a translator in 1993 and in 1994 he became the first TIPS employee, taking on the role of Managing Director.

He has taught Translation, Terminology, and Translation Technology to trainee translators as well as Translation teachers. He is currently a guest lecturer on Software Localisation at the Faculty of Arts of the University of Porto. He was an active member of several professional associations and in 1999 he was the President of the Portuguese work group that helped prepare the European Standard for the Translation Industry (EN 15308).

One of his main functions at TIPS is to find solutions for the company’s needs, and he is willing to go as far as necessary to find the best solutions. He believes his greatest talent is creating strong teams of people with diverse skills.
